📢 Retirement Board Approves 2.5% COLA

At its recent September meeting, the Retirement Board approved a 2.5% ad hoc cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for eligible retirees of both the Police Retirement System and the Civilian Employees’ Retirement System.

When will you see the increase?

🔹 Police Retirees: The 2.5% COLA will first be reflected in your October 30, 2026 benefit payment.

🔹 Civilian Retirees: The 2.5% COLA will first be reflected in your November 2, 2026 benefit payment.

Please note: The COLA will not be reflected in the benefit payment issued later this month.

No action is required. KCPERS will automatically calculate and apply the 2.5% increase to eligible retirees’ base pension benefits.
