The Department’s Open Enrollment period for retirees will take place from April 8 through April 22, 2026.
Medicare Open Enrollment
Medicare Open Enrollment with KCPD is Now through November 29
Medicare Open Enrollment with KCPD is November 11 – 29. There will be an Open Enrollment session at the Regional Police Academy Thursday, November 21st from 2-4pm. There will be a representative from Blue Cross Blue Shield offering information on Plan G, and a representative with United Health Care regarding the new Advantage Plan with UHC.
United Health Care is mailing their 2025 Plan Guide to all Medicare Eligible retirees. Be on the look-out if you are interested.
2026 Retirement Board Election
From June 5, 2026, through June 19, 2026, the Kansas City Police Employees’ Retirement Systems (KCPERS) will hold an election to fill one position on the Retirement Board created by the expiring term of Captain Nathan Simecek.
